Olsie

Olsie is a private family voice assistant. A small hub lives in your house and does the listening, understanding and remembering; satellite speakers (the Olsie Mini) live in your rooms. It knows who is speaking, what they are allowed to ask for, and what your family has told it before.

The promise

Local-first: your home keeps working even without our cloud. Built on open standards. Your data never leaves your house.

Concretely:

  • Local-first. Wake word, speech-to-text and home control run on the Hub, in your house. If our cloud disappears for an hour - or forever - your lights, timers, and routines keep working.
  • Open standards. Olsie is built on the open smart-home ecosystem rather than a walled garden (see Attributions). Your devices are yours.
  • Private by architecture, not by policy. Raw audio physically never leaves the Hub. See Privacy & Trust for exactly what crosses the wire and what never does.

Where to go next

  • Getting Started - from box to talking assistant in about 15 minutes.
  • Privacy & Trust - the part most companies hope you won't read. We hope you will.
  • API - household API for the technically curious.
  • Status - live service status.
